Grantswood Community School

Grantswood Community School, located in Irondale, Alabama, opened its doors in 1979 as part of the Jefferson County School District, the second largest school district in the state.  A school with a long history of excellence, Grantswood Community School received national honors and recognition in the 1990's from the United States Department of Education in Washington, D.C. as a National Blue Ribbon School.  Grantswood Community School is now a kindergarten through second grade school with over 350 students.  When leaving second grade, students attend our feeder pattern schools as follows: Irondale Community School for third through fifth grades, Irondale Middle School for sixth through eighth grades, and Shades Valley High School for ninth through twelfth grades.  We are thankful for the opportunity to serve the parents and students of Irondale!
